Attractive NTU Scholarships You Should Know!

Nanyang Technological University (NTU) is an institution that's known for being one of the top universities in Asia as well as one of the top 10 young universities in the world, according to the QS World University Rankings. Apart from offering world-class education, NTU also offers scholarships for prospective undergraduates. Moreover, let's dive into the attractive NTU scholarships available for you!

NTU Scholarship #1: Nanyang Scholarship

The Nanyang Scholarship is a prestigious award given to outstanding freshmen pursuing undergraduate programs at Nanyang Technological University (NTU). This full-tuition scholarship covers the program duration on the condition that the awardee maintains a record of good academic performance and exemplary conduct. 

What does the Nanyang Scholarship cover? 

  • Full coverage of subsidized tuition fees (after Tuition Grant)
  • Living allowance of SGD6,500 per academic year
  • Accommodation allowance of up to SGD2,000 per academic year
  • Travel grant of up to SGD5,000 for an overseas program 
  • One-off computer allowance of SGD1,750
  • No bond is attached to the Nanyang Scholarship apart from the three-year bond applicable to all Singapore PRs and international students under the MOE Tuition Grant Scheme.

To be eligible for the Nanyang scholarship, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Open to all nationalities
  • Have received an offer from NTU in one of the undergraduate programs
  • Exhibit outstanding performance in previous academic studies such as Singapore-Cambridge GCE 'A' level, Diploma awarded by a polytechnic in Singapore, NUS High School Diploma, IB Diploma, or any Year 12 equivalent qualifications
  • Demonstrate outstanding leadership potential through participation in extracurricular activities

Note: The Nanyang scholarship covers only the first three years of study at NTU for the Biomedical Sciences & Chinese Medicine Program. 

NTU Scholarship #2: ASEAN Scholarship

Another NTU scholarship is the ASEAN Undergraduate Scholarship, which is a full-tuition scholarship for citizens or permanent residents from the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), except Singapore. Students from ASEAN countries such as Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam can sign up to apply for this scholarship. 

What does the ASEAN Scholarship cover? 

  • Full coverage of subsidized tuition fees (after Tuition Grant)
  • Living allowance of SGD5,800 per academic year
  • Accommodation allowance of SGD3,000 per academic year
  • One-off computer allowance of SGD1,750
  • No bond is attached to the ASEAN Undergraduate Scholarship apart from the three-year bond applicable to all Singapore PRs and international students under the MOE Tuition Grant Scheme.

To be eligible for the ASEAN scholarship, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Singapore Permanent Residents or Citizens from the ASEAN countries (except Singapore)
  • Have received an offer from NTU in one of the undergraduate programs 
  • Exhibit outstanding performance in previous academic studies such as Singapore-Cambridge GCE 'A' level, Diploma awarded by a polytechnic in Singapore, NUS High School Diploma, IB Diploma, or any Year 12 equivalent qualifications
  • Demonstrate outstanding leadership potential through participation in extracurricular activities

NTU Scholarship #3: College Scholarship

NTU also offers ?College scholarships. Moreover, it is awarded to outstanding freshmen who are pursuing a full-time undergraduate program at NTU. 

What does the College Scholarship cover? 

  • Full coverage of subsidized tuition fees (after Tuition Grant)??
  • Living allowance of SGD5,000 per academic year
  • No bond is attached to the College Scholarship apart from the three-year bond applicable to all Singapore PRs and international students under the MOE Tuition Grant Scheme

To be eligible for the College scholarship, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Open to all nationalities.
  • Have received an offer from NTU in one of the undergraduate programs.
  • Exhibit outstanding performance in previous academic studies such as Singapore-Cambridge GCE 'A' level, Diploma awarded by a polytechnic in Singapore, NUS High School Diploma, IB Diploma, or any Year 12 equivalent qualifications.
  • Demonstrate outstanding leadership potential through participation in extracurricular activities.

Note: The College scholarship covers only the first three years of study at NTU for the Biomedical Sciences & Chinese Medicine Program.

Applying to the scholarships

To apply for the scholarships offered by NTU, you need to submit your application for admission before submitting your application for the scholarship. Therefore, the scholarship application period is the same as the admission application period.  

If you have an IB Diploma, the scholarship application form can be found at the link 'Apply for Scholarship' at the end of your online application for admission. Furthermore, you need to log in with your assigned application number.

If you have any other Year 12 qualifications, click here to apply for the scholarship with your assigned application number before the application closing date for your qualification.

One of the components of applying for a scholarship is writing a Personal Essay of not more than 300 words. You will see 3 topics for the essay in the scholarship application form. Aside from that, some of the supporting documents that need to be submitted include:

  • A recent passport-size photo.
  • A referee's appraisal.
