Here’s What You Should Know about NUS Admission Process

General Requirements

English Language Proficiency 

As English is the medium of instruction in NUS, you'll be required to submit proof of English language proficiency. The following are the minimum test scores required for admissions:

Note: 

  • For C1 Advanced / Cambridge English: Advanced, PTE Academic, TOEFL and/or IELTS, the scores should be obtained within 2 years of the application deadline. 
  • IELTS Indicator score is not accepted.
  • NUS only accepts TOEFL iBT scores from a single test date, not MyBest scores

NUS Admission

The application to the undergraduate programs at NUS is done online. First, you'll need to complete the Online Application Form. 

Admissions Section

  • Personal particulars - Passport or Birth Certificate 
  • Alternative Contact - A person to contact in case of emergency
  • Choice of Courses - You can apply for a maximum of eight single degree choices and another eight double degree, concurrent degree, double major, minor and specialization programs.
  • Education - If you are sitting for your national or official Year 12 examination in the year of application and will receive your results only after the application deadline, you should select “Predicted / Forecast” and input your most recent school results. However, if you have completed your national or official Year 12 examination by the application deadline, you should select “Actual” and input your actual results. 
  • Achievements (optional) - If you wish to be considered under the Aptitude Based Admissions Scheme, you should share your achievements and provide details through the 2,000 characters Personal Statement. Furthermore, if you have participated in any competition under the International Science Olympiad, also provide the details. 
  • University/Tertiary Education (optional) - If you are a current or former undergraduate of a university, please provide details for all the required fields. 
  • Health and Support (if applicable) - Share if you have past or current medical or mental health condition and/or physical disabilities; and/or drug or food allergies
  • Other information - Indicate if you have been arrested, charged in court, put on probation or convicted of an offence; suspended or expelled from an educational institution; terminated from your employment for any reason; or have any court or disciplinary proceedings pending.
  • Tuition Grant - International Students are to indicate their intention to apply for Tuition Grant. 

Your application will be only considered after you have completed the application process and successfully submitted the supporting documents. 

NUS Admission Application Period

The application fee for NUS admission is S$20.

International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma  15 October - 21 February
'A' Level (AQA, Cambridge, Edexcel, London, OCR, Oxford International AQA, WJEC) 15 October - 28 February

Post-application

Application outcomes will be released online and in batches, with the final batch being released around mid-July. Depending on the course(s) you have applied for, interviews and/or tests may be required before an admission outcome is made.
