As a public research university, Peking University conducts both basic and applied research. In addition to its 30 schools, Peking University has 216 research institutions and research centers, with two national engineering research centers and 12 national key laboratories. The university library is one of the biggest in Asia, with 8 million holdings.

Peking University Master Program
In total, there are 395 majors offered at Peking University, 75 of which are taught in English. When it comes to the Peking University master program, there are 201 majors offered in eight schools:

- Department of Information and Engineering Sciences

- Faculty of Social Sciences
- Faculty of Economics and Management

- Shenzhen Graduate School
At Peking University, international students can choose two different master's degree study options: full-time and part-time. Both options can take two or three years to complete.
How to Apply
To apply for the Peking University master program, make sure that you possess no criminal records and hold a bachelor's degree from a university (outside and inside Mainland China) accredited by the Ministry of Education of China. Additionally, you should meet the minimum admission requirements for academic performance, academic level, and language proficiency of the major you are applying for.
Here are several documents that you will need to submit for the application for the Peking University master program:
- Photocopy of a valid passport
- Graduation and degree certificates (original documents or notarized copies either in Chinese or English)
- Official academic transcripts, including courses taken and standards achieved (original documents or notarized copies either in Chinese or English)
- A 1500-word personal statement (including your research plan)
- Two recommendation letters from a professor(s) or associate professor(s) related to the major
- Original or copy of the language (Chinese or English) test scores
- Table of contents and abstracts of your academic publications or any other original achievements in your field (if applicable)
For each program you apply for, you will need to pay 800 RMB. If you submit applications for two different programs, you must pay the combined 1600 RMB application cost altogether.
