Peking University was first known as the Imperial University of Peking when it was established in 1898. It was the first national university in China to offer a wide range of academic fields, and it has since grown to become a center for teaching and research.
As a public research university, Peking University conducts both basic and applied research. In addition to its 30 schools, Peking University has 216 research institutions and research centers, with two national engineering research centers and 12 national key laboratories. The university library is one of the biggest in Asia, with 8 million holdings.
Over the past few years, Peking University has consistently been ranked among the top universities in Asia and the world according to major international university rankings.
In the latest QS World University Rankings, Peking University ranked 18th globally, 2nd in Asia, and 1st in China. Meanwhile, Times Higher Education World University Rankings in 2022 placed Peking University first in China and the Asia-Pacific region, and 16th overall.
In total, there are 395 majors offered at Peking University, 75 of which are taught in English. When it comes to the Peking University master program, there are 201 majors offered in eight schools:
At Peking University, international students can choose two different master's degree study options: full-time and part-time. Both options can take two or three years to complete.
To apply for the Peking University master program, make sure that you possess no criminal records and hold a bachelor's degree from a university (outside and inside Mainland China) accredited by the Ministry of Education of China. Additionally, you should meet the minimum admission requirements for academic performance, academic level, and language proficiency of the major you are applying for.

For each program you apply for, you will need to pay 800 RMB. If you submit applications for two different programs, you must pay the combined 1600 RMB application cost altogether.
