History of Stanford Business School
The Stanford Graduate School of Business (GSB) was founded in 1925. Herbert Hoover, a trustee of Stanford University, created a committee that was tasked with securing the needed funds for the school's founding. Furthermore, Willard Hotchkiss became the first dean of Stanford GSB.
In April 1933, the Stanford GSB Library was officially inaugurated with a collection of 1,000 books and assorted reports. Then, by 1937, Stanford Business School had moved from Jordan Hall to its current location in the History Corner of the Quad.

As one of the most selective MBA programs in the United States, the admissions team at Stanford Graduate School of Business tends to maintain a low acceptance rate. Furthermore, of the 7,324 applicants to Stanford GSB's class of 2022, only 436 got admitted.
MBA Program (Master of Business Administration)
Stanford Business School offers a full-time, two-year MBA program that leads to a comprehensive general management degree. Moreover, the Stanford MBA program curriculum has 6 quarters: the autumn, winter, and spring quarters of year one, and the autumn, winter, and spring quarters of year two.
The first-year curriculum at Stanford Business School's MBA program focuses on building students' general management knowledge and gaining global exposure where students take fixed core classes and select one or two electives.
In their second year, students can further customize their learning with their choice of electives, seminars or through the pursuit of a joint degree. There are several options to choose from:

Penny Pritzker
Penny Pritzker earned both a Juris Doctor and an MBA from Stanford University in 1985. Since then, she has founded five companies including PSP Capital Partners and Pritzker Realty Group. From 2013 to 2017, she served as the US Secretary of Commerce under the Obama administration.
Jon Abbott
Jon Abbott earned his MBA from Stanford before joining KQED in San Francisco and then GBH, where he held the position of Vice President and General Manager starting in 1998. In 2007, Jon was named President and CEO of GBH. Under his tenure as CEO, Jon grew GBH's endowment from over $60 million to nearly $525 million.
