Cornell University's Background

Cornell University has its roots dating back to 1865 when Ezra Cornell and Andrew Dickson White founded it. Its main campus stretches across 2,300 acres of land in Ithaca, upstate New York. Cornell University is home to seven undergraduate colleges and seven graduate divisions. Each college and division has its own set of admissions standards and curriculum. 

In addition to its picturesque Ivy League campus in Ithaca, New York, Cornell University has two satellite campuses. One is located in New York City, and the other is in Qatar's Education City.

Cornell's student body is made up of more than 23,000 students. Among those students, there are approximately 14,700 undergraduates and 6,200 graduates.

Admissions to Cornell

Before landing in the Cornell University master program, you will need to submit an online application form. In your application, there are several things you must submit, including: 

  • Standardized test scores (Graduate Record Examination (GRE) and/or Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT))
  • Letters of recommendation 
  • Personal statement or statement of purpose
  • Transcripts 
  • Resume or CV

To meet the language requirements, you must submit proof of your English language proficiency test scores (if you are an international student):

These are the general English language test requirements for most Cornell programs.  However, some courses may have higher requirements.
