Since its founding, the Graduate School of Letters has been a leading academic hub for the arts and humanities. Furthermore, for education and research, the graduate school has collaborated closely with the Faculty of Integrated Human Studies, the Institute for Research in Humanities, and other divisions of the institution.

Graduate School of Pharmaceutical Sciences

This graduate school has a learning process that focuses on gaining professional knowledge, technical skills, and problem-solving abilities. Furthermore, this Master's Degree program seeks to cultivate the production of original drug discovery research in its students. Also, in terms of research, students can base their work on their specialized areas of study.

How to Apply to Kyoto University Master Program

If you graduated from universities outside of Japan, you'll need to contact the Admissions Assistance Office (AAO) for a preliminary review. This is right before submitting application documents. The AAO will later notify applicants so that they can proceed with applying to graduate programs in accordance with the results. Moreover, through the AAO process, you could connect with your prospective supervisor.

Please be aware that the AAO application process and the master's program application process are two independent processes. Submitting your AAO application does not mean that you have filled in the graduate school application.

Here are several documents that you will need to submit for the AAO process:

  • Photo (above shoulders, facing the camera)
  • Statement of Purpose
  • Graduation Certificate (if you have already graduated)
  • Academic Transcript
  • Expected Graduate Certificate or Certificate of Enrollment (if you expect to graduate)

The Kyoto University master program application process varies for each school in terms of the test schedule and application deadline. In some cases, preliminary screening may be required before submitting the application documents. Also, the screening consists of written and oral examinations to evaluate language proficiency and knowledge of the chosen field.
