Simple Essay Writing Structure for Everything

Narrative Essay Writing Structure

The structure of the narrative essay is very particular. You can try to divide it into three parts:

1. Introduction

In a Narrative essay, this part will give the readers insight into your story. This part is filled with hooks that entice readers' curiosity to read more about the story you tell.

2. Body

The body structure of the narrative essay is the soul of the story. This is where the readers enjoy reading the most. The body of the narrative essay is divided into three parts.

• Rising Action
• Climax
• Falling Action

3. Conclusion

This is the last part of the narrative essay. This is the part where readers learn the moral of the story.

Argumentative, Descriptive, Expository, and Persuasive Essay

The structure of the argumentative, descriptive, expository, and persuasive essay is similar to each other. Therefore, You can try to divide it into three parts:

1. Introduction

    The introduction part of the essay is the most critical. When writing an introduction, you can divide it into three sections.

• Section one is the part where you present the reader with a hook. A hook is a neutral sentence that engages your reader and arouses their curiosity about your essay.
• Section two is where you present the reader with your topic, background, and thesis statement. By giving background to your topic, you will give the reader more knowledge about your subject. Your thesis statement will represent your answer to the problem.
• Section three is the outline of your whole argument in general. Give a concise explanation of how you plan to address each issue and the order in which you will do it.

2. Body

The body paragraph is the essence of your essay. It is usually four to five paragraphs long, each explaining its key point. To keep it simple. Let's divide it into three sections.

• The topic sentence comes first. It carries the point of the paragraph. Topic sentence informs the reader about the paragraph's topic and the key point it will make. 
• The supporting sentences follow, expanding on the main idea by discussing it in greater depth, analyzing what it means, and, of course, providing the evidence and argument that support it. This is where you support your claim with evidence from your study.
• The final part of the paragraph is to remind the reader of your main idea, which restates the notion from the topic sentence.

3. Conclusion

The conclusion is the last part of an essay. In this part, you summarize your thesis statement and its supporting idea. It does not contain any new information. Remind the readers of the thesis statement first. Do not use the exact words you used in your introduction. Instead, you use different words to emphasize the same point: your overall response to the question is based on your logic. Then give a brief explanation of why your overall conclusions are significant. 

Remember! In this part, the readers should feel as they are learning something new.
